The Bandung City Government is exploring how artificial intelligence could help make public services more adaptive, opening a discussion with Soca AI on the potential of AI and data integration across the city administration.
The conversation centred on data-driven decision making: bringing city data together so that leaders can read what is happening across Bandung in real time, rather than relying on fragmented, delayed reporting.
Existing city infrastructure such as the Bandung Command Center and the Bandung Siaga 112 emergency service were highlighted as natural starting points, since both already collect operational data that could be analysed and presented more comprehensively with AI assistance.
Digital talent development was also raised as a priority, with the city administration emphasising that any adoption of AI must be accompanied by stronger digital capability among civil servants and the wider community.
“AI can be a major leap forward for public services when applied correctly and ethically. The key lies in data integration, strengthening digital human resources, and open collaboration between government, industry, and community.”
